it's basically the "boy who cried wolf" story. there's only so many times you can scream about a perceived crisis before no one's going to believe you. why should anyone believe this pack of nonsense after the WMD fiasco of 2004?

The question of "why should anyone believe" is different from the question of "why would anyone believe."

It is important to understand that both parties have long collaborated in imperialism, since long before Bush or his daddy. In fact the political order in the United States has been imperialist since its inception and the American Revolution was partly a response to an act of the British parliament (the Quebec Act) limiting colonial expansion to the territory east of the Appalachians and reserving the area to the west for "Indians."

Because the military is already overextended in Iraq and Afghanistan (deployments are actually scattered over nearly 130 countries); some speculate an attack on Iran would take the form of a missile attack. The US, it is to be understood, will attack to forestall an Israeli attack.

This assumes that a US attack will be less inflammatory than an Israeli one. That Arabs and Iranians see the Israelis as instruments of US policy and will likely react in the same way regardless of who launches the attack is lost.
